Child & Youth Programs

REGISTER FOR FREE

At the heart of the Eva Rothwell Centre, has always been our free Child & Youth programming. Today, we continue to provide a wide range of innovative educational and developmental activities so children and youth are given opportunities to engage and succeed through physical, social, creative and educational programming.

Known as a ‘second home’ for many of our members, we ensure there are no barriers to access.

Monday-Friday from 3:00pm – 6:00pm (after school snack being provided daily)

Breakfast Program

Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 8:30am
Students who are given nutritious breakfasts daily make significant improvements in learning, school attendance, behaviour and self-esteem.

In partnership with Tastebuds Hamilton, the Eva Rothwell Centre’s “Best Start” breakfast program ensures that children in need have access to a healthy breakfast in a safe, supervised environment – to help each child start their day ready to learn.

Larry Paikin Literacy Express

At the center of success, is education.  The Larry Paikin Literacy Express provides children and youth a quiet location to interact with staff and volunteers to take the next steps towards learning. Reading programs, social media writing, and homework tutoring are offered.

Imagination Library

An initiative of Mohawk College's Early Childhood Education Program and the Eva Rothwell Centre in Hamilton - in partnership with Dolly Parton's Dollywood Foundation. The Imagination Library of Hamilton supports and encourages literacy throughout Hamilton's L8L postal code.

In April 2017 we launched this exciting new effort to benefit the children in our community. This program provides one free book per month to every enrolled child from birth to the age of five.  It is one of the most important ways, we know of, to improve educational opportunities for children in our Community.
