Offering a wide variety of free programs and classes geared towards all members of Hamilton’s at risk, North End community, our educational, recreational, social and skill development programs ensure the tools and mentorship required for the betterment of their lives is provided, so that they may reach their full potential and end the cycle of poverty.

Learning Pod Modules 

Our Learning Pods are designed to provide mentorship, education, and personal development programming to support youth and adults. Our goal is to teach members essential life and job skills to create a healthy cycle of community engagement, advocacy, and leadership. Divided into 6 sections of life and employment skill development, each section is aimed and assisting members in reaching their full potential.

After School Child & Youth Programs

At the heart of our Centre, is our child and youth programming. We strive to provide a wide range of innovative educational and developmental activities so children and youth may be given opportunities to engage and succeed through physical, social, creative and educational programming. Known as a second home for many of our members, we ensure there is no barriers to access. The After School Program runs Monday-Friday from 3:00pm – 6:00pm with after school snack being provided daily.

Breakfast Program

Did you know students that are given nutritious breakfasts daily make significant improvements in learning, school attendance, behaviour and self-esteem?
In partnership with Tastebuds Hamilton, the Eva Rothwell Centre’s, “Best Start” breakfast program ensures children in need throughout the community have access to a healthy breakfast in a safe, supervised environment. Help us help each child start their day ready to learn! 

Hours: 7:00am to 8:30am, Monday to Friday

Larry Palkin Literacy Express

At the center of success, is education. In partnership with Hamilton Police Services, The Literacy Express provides children and youth a quiet location to interact with staff and Hamilton Police Crime Prevention volunteers so that they may take the next steps towards their learning. Reading programs, social media writing, and homework tutoring are offered from Monday to Friday 4pm to 6pm.
